How much does an online store cost in 2026: build and yearly costs

Building an online store in Latvia in 2026 costs from 1 490 € + VAT for a store with guest checkout, parcel lockers and bank payments. A store with customer accounts and smart search costs from 2 900 €, and a B2B store linked to accounting or a warehouse from 5 500 €. After launch, hosting for a WooCommerce store costs from 80 € a year. Below is what drives the price, what you will pay every year and how to compare quotes so there are no surprises a year later.

80 €hosting a year

The short answer: three price levels

All prices exclude VAT and include the Figma design, development, integrations, test orders and launch. The final price goes into the contract before work starts.

Start: from 1 490 €

Checkout without registration on a single page. Up to 100 products, Omniva, DPD or Venipak parcel lockers, bank links and cards via Montonio or Stripe, a VAT invoice for every order. Suits a store that is just starting or sells a small range. Ready in about 3 weeks.

Advanced: from 2 900 €

Customer accounts with order history, smart search with filters, Apple Pay, Google Pay and leasing, up to 1 000 products with variations. Plus discount codes, abandoned cart emails and structured data for products. 3 to 4 weeks.

Pro: from 5 500 €

B2B prices, minimum quantities and payment by invoice, a loyalty programme, a link to accounting or a warehouse, several languages and currencies. No limit on the number of products. 4 to 5 weeks.

What each package includes and how the platforms compare is on the online store development page.

What drives the price

Two stores with the same design can cost very different amounts. These are the things that affect the price most.

  • Number of products and variations. 50 products without sizes and 800 products with colours, sizes and different prices are two different jobs. Variations need filters, import and checking.
  • Delivery. Parcel lockers are standard. Courier delivery, in-store pickup, prices by weight or free delivery above a certain amount need extra setup.
  • Payment. Bank links and cards are already in the Start package. Leasing and payment by invoice for companies come in the higher packages.
  • Integrations. A link to accounting, a warehouse or a supplier API is usually the most expensive item, because every system works differently. We estimate it from the documentation, not by eye.
  • Languages and countries. A store for Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia means translations, other delivery options and sometimes other prices. How we solved this in one store is in the article one online store in three countries.
  • Product entry and photos. If you enter products yourself, that cost stays with you. If you hand it to us, we price it separately in the quote.
  • Moving from an old store. Products, customers, order history and a 301 redirect for every old link, so your Google rankings do not disappear.

Three examples

To make the prices easier to read, here are typical situations from our calls with clients.

  • A handmade goods store with 60 products. Guest checkout, parcel lockers, bank links. Start package, from 1 490 €.
  • A building materials store with 800 products and variations. Filters by size and material, leasing, customer accounts for repeat orders. Advanced package, from 2 900 €.
  • A wholesaler with business customers. A price for each customer, payment by invoice and a link to accounting. Pro package, from 5 500 €, final price by specification.

Costs after launch

Development is a one-off. These costs come back every year, so add them up before you sign.

  • WooCommerce: hosting from 80 € a year plus the domain. No monthly platform fee. The system and plugins need regular updates: do it yourself or hand it to maintenance from 49 € a month.
  • Shopify: a monthly plan and paid apps, paid directly to Shopify. In return there is almost no technical upkeep.
  • Wix Studio: a plan with e-commerce features, paid directly to Wix. Hosting and security are included in the plan.
  • Payment fees: Montonio, Stripe and similar services take a small percentage of each transaction. There is usually no monthly fee.
  • Delivery: a contract with Omniva, DPD or Venipak. Prices depend on the number of parcels.

If you would rather not pay separately for the store, upkeep, video and SEO, there is the E-commerce subscription from 850 € a month. It includes building the store, maintaining it and filming once a month.

Costs people often forget

  • Product photos and descriptions. A store with carefully written descriptions sells better and is easier to find in Google. That takes time or money.
  • Legal texts. Terms of use, the right of withdrawal and the privacy policy have to be ready before launch, not after the first complaint.
  • Accessibility. The Latvian accessibility law also covers online stores that are not microenterprises. If in doubt, start with an accessibility audit.
  • Ad budget for the first months. A new store is not yet visible in Google. The first buyers usually come from Google and Meta ads while SEO picks up.

Everything to check before launch is collected in the online store launch checklist.

WooCommerce, Shopify or Wix Studio: which works out cheaper

With us, development costs the same on all three platforms. What differs is the yearly cost and how much you can change later.

WooCommerce is cheaper in the long run, because there is no monthly platform fee and the code and data belong to you. We recommend it when SEO, complex delivery or a link to accounting matter. More: what is WooCommerce.

Shopify suits brands that sell in several countries and want minimal technical upkeep. The monthly fee is higher, but there is no server to think about.

Wix Studio is the fastest start for a small catalogue of up to a few hundred products. How we work with it is on the Wix Studio website page.

How to compare quotes: 6 questions

Ask them of any developer, including us. The answers quickly show whether you are comparing like with like.

  • Are parcel lockers, bank payments and VAT invoices in the price, or will they be extra later?
  • How many products does the price cover, and what happens if there are more?
  • Who owns the store, the code and the customer data after payment?
  • What will the platform, hosting and maintenance cost each year after launch?
  • Will I see and approve the design before development?
  • Which online stores have you built, and can I open and check them?

Our answers: parcel lockers, bank links and VAT invoices are already in the Start package, everything belongs to you after payment, hosting is from 80 € a year, and we approve the design in Figma before coding. You can open our stores on the page online stores we have built.

Frequently asked questions

How much does building an online store cost in 2026?

From 1 490 € + VAT for a store with guest checkout, parcel lockers and bank payments. With customer accounts and smart search from 2 900 €, with B2B and integrations from 5 500 €.

How much does it cost to run an online store each year?

For a WooCommerce store, hosting from 80 € + VAT a year plus the domain. If you leave updates and security to us, maintenance costs from 49 € a month. For Shopify and Wix Studio you pay the plan directly to the platform.

How long does it take to build an online store?

3 to 5 weeks depending on the package. The pace is most often set by product descriptions and photos, so you can prepare them while the design is being drawn.

Isn't it cheaper to build the store myself?

Cheaper in money, more expensive in time. What is most often missing is properly set up delivery, VAT invoices, legal texts and SEO basics. If the store has to sell from the first month, professional development usually pays off faster.

Can you move my existing store?

Yes. We move products, customers and order history, set a 301 redirect for every old link and check indexing in Google Search Console after launch.
